Read below to learn more about Garden Bouquet and the inspiration behind this lovely assortment of fabrics, which have been in the works for the past year…
For his latest fabric collection, Steve McKenzie reaches back to his first glimpse, gained as a child, into the world of interior design and recalls the English Garden Chintz, used in spaces by Sister Parish, David Hicks and Mario Buatta.
The Maison Valentino Spring/Summer 2015 runway show Steve enjoyed last year offered the needed spark to turn to his love of floral patterns into inspiration for his next fabric collection.
Looking to photographs of roses Steve took in his then garden, he began painting those homegrown roses in watercolor and worked to translate those artworks into patterns combined with hand-drawn French stripes.
With that, the Garden Bouquet collection was conceived.
Printed on Cotton Sateen, Garden Bouquet is McKenzie’s interpretation of the Chintz of yesterday, transformed into a modern palette for today’s homes and lifestyles.
And there you have it – Garden Bouquet by Steve McKenzie! These fabrics have added such a fantastic breath of fresh air to our current offering, and they’re even more stunning in person.
We hope to see you in the showroom soon – or if you find yourself in New York City, visit our friends at Studio Four NYC – and take a peek at these for yourself!
